A fresh spell of rain and snowfall is expected across parts of Jammu & Kashmir as weather conditions change under the influence of a Western Disturbance. The Met Centre has warned of thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds during October 6–10.

Plains: Rain and thundershowers are likely at some places.
Higher reaches: Light snowfall is possible, with a more significant rain/snow spell expected around October 8–11.
Gusty winds: Squally winds of around 30–40 km/h are possible in parts of the Jammu Division.
Hailstorm/Lightning: Thunderstorms and lightning activity are possible, particularly as the weather system develops.

Temperatures have remained above normal in several parts of J&K, adding to the possibility of sudden thunderstorms and gusty winds.

Weather advisory: Farmers are advised to secure harvested paddy and apples, while residents in vulnerable areas should remain cautious during thunderstorms and strong winds.
