Sopore Police Solve Theft Case; Two Accused Arrested, Stolen Copper Recovered
Sopore, September 07: Sopore Police have solved a theft case with the arrest of two accused persons and recovery of stolen copper items.
The case came to light after Asrar Ali, son of Abid Hussain Ali, a resident of Saidpora, Sopore, lodged a written complaint at Police Post Bus Stand regarding the theft of valuable copper items from his scrap workshop located along Brath Crossing Road.
Following the complaint, FIR No. 223/2026 under Sections 331(4), 62 and 3(5) BNS was registered at Police Station Sopore, and an investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, police identified and apprehended the accused. The stolen copper items/scrap were recovered from their possession and seized as per law.
The accused have been identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Malla, son of Ghulam Mohammad Malla, and Irfan Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Ahad Dar, both residents of Mehrajpora, Sopore.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
