Sumb, Samba: Shree Hindu Sangh celebrated the birth anniversary of the last Dogra ruler, Maharaja Hari Singh, at Sumb with great enthusiasm and participation from people belonging to different sections of society.

The programme was attended by Balbir Singh Chib, President, Shree Hindu Sangh,J&K UT, Surinder Sharma, General Secretary,  J&K UT, Mahant Manoj Dass of Narsingh Mandir, Sumb, and B.A. Khatana of Muslim Ekta Manch under Shree Hindu Sangh. Also present were Amandeep Singh Sambyal, District President, Shree Hindu Sangh Samba; Adv. Rahul Sambyal, District General Secretary; Pankaj Sharma, District Media Secretary; Sunny Sambyal; Amit Padha; Sunny Suryawanshi; Sangram Singh; Sohan Singh, Social Activist; Sanjeev Singh Billouria; Reena Choudhary, former Sarpanch; Aman Singh and several other members and prominent citizens.

The celebrations commenced with garlanding of the portrait of Maharaja Hari Singh, followed by speeches highlighting his life, administrative vision and progressive social reforms.

Speaking on the occasion, Balbir Singh Chib, Amandeep Singh Sambyal, Adv. Rahul Sambyal and B.A. Khatana recalled the contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh towards social reform, education, justice and the welfare of his subjects. They particularly highlighted the Maharaja's inclusive vision and his famous philosophy:

“As a ruler, I have no religion; all religions are mine.”

The speakers said that Maharaja Hari Singh's approach towards governance and social reforms continues to hold relevance, particularly his emphasis on equality and harmony among communities.

After the programme, prasad was distributed among the general public.

The dignitaries and members of Shree Hindu Sangh thereafter visited the famous Devsthan of Baba Shivo Ji, where they sought blessings in the presence of Mahant Des Raj Sharma.

The programme concluded with a message of social harmony, unity and respect for the legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh.
