Sakina Itoo Lays Foundation Stone for ₹1 Crore Volleyball Academy in Damhal Hanjipora
KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 12: Hon’ble Minister Miss Sakina Itoo today laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Volleyball Academy at Damhal Hanjipora in District Kulgam.
The academy is being executed by the J&K Sports Council at an estimated cost of ₹1 crore and is aimed at providing modern sports infrastructure and better opportunities to the talented youth of the area, particularly aspiring volleyball players.
The initiative is expected to give a further boost to sporting activities and strengthen the sports ecosystem in Kulgam district by providing young athletes with improved facilities to hone their skills and pursue their sporting ambitions.
Later, Miss Sakina Itoo distributed appointment orders among the newly selected Anganwadi Helpers and Workers, marking an important step towards strengthening grassroots welfare services and providing employment opportunities to local women.
On the occasion, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening sports, education, healthcare and social welfare infrastructure, with a special focus on creating greater opportunities for youth and women across Jammu & Kashmir.
