Rajouri Police Arrest Drug Peddler, Recover 1.111 Kg Ganja-Like Substance in Sunderbani


RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 02: Continuing its sustained drive against the illegal trafficking of narcotic substances, Rajouri Police today apprehended a suspected drug peddler and recovered 1.111 kg of Ganja-like narcotic substance from his possession in Sunderbani.

According to police, a naka party at ITI Sunderbani, headed by the Naka Incharge and operating under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, intercepted a person carrying a black bag during routine checking.

During the search, police recovered 1 kg and 111 grams of Ganja-like narcotic substance from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Rohan Kumar, son of Raj Kumar, a resident of Ward No. 05, Jawahar Nagar, Rajouri.

In connection with the recovery, FIR No. 60/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani. Further investigation into the case has been initiated.

SSP Rajouri Naresh Singh-JKPS said that the police would continue its sustained efforts against the illegal possession, transportation and trafficking of narcotic substances.

Rajouri Police reiterated its commitment to combating the drug menace and working towards a drug-free society under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir campaign.
