Samba, September 7: In a significant step towards strengthening digital education in government schools, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Samba, Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS), inaugurated 10 Smart Classrooms established across 10 Government schools of district Samba.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Conference Hall of the DC Office, Samba, and was attended by senior district officers, representatives of ELFA International and other distinguished dignitaries.

The event was attended by Ms. Champa Devi Thakur (JKAS), ADDC Samba; Mr. Rafiq Ahmad Jaral (JKAS), ACD Samba; Mr. Kasturi Lal (JKES), CPO Samba; Mr. Yashpal Sharma, CEO Samba; Mr. Nawab Mehran Khan, CEO & President, ELFA International; Mr. Iftikhar Ahmad Mir, Senior Vice President, ELFA International, along with senior team members and other officials.

The initiative has been supported by NTT DATA under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and implemented by ELFA International. The project aims to improve access to technology-enabled learning and create better educational opportunities for students in underserved areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Ankur Dasgupta, Vice President, Global CSR & India Marketing, NTT DATA, said that access to quality education enabled by technology should be within reach of every child, irrespective of geography or circumstances. He said the smart classrooms reflect NTT DATA's continued commitment to strengthening educational ecosystems and enhancing learning opportunities for students.

Nawab Mehran Khan, CEO & President, ELFA International, said that education is a powerful instrument of social transformation. He observed that the smart classrooms are not merely about introducing technology but about opening new avenues of opportunity for children facing geographical and resource constraints.

Addressing the gathering, DDC Samba Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS) said that access to digital tools can significantly improve student attendance and motivation while strengthening foundational competencies, particularly in hard-to-reach and underserved regions.

She appreciated NTT DATA and ELFA International for their efforts towards promoting technology-enabled education and requested ELFA International to continue undertaking similar initiatives in district Samba.

The establishment of the 10 smart classrooms marks an important step towards bridging the digital divide and creating a more inclusive and technology-enabled learning environment for students across Samba district.
