Major Drug Bust in Katra: Interstate Drug Peddler Arrested, Heroin Recovered
Katra, Reasi: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Reasi Police arrested an alleged interstate drug peddler and recovered 4.14 grams of heroin (Chitta) during routine patrolling in Katra.
The accused has been identified as Rehan Khosla, son of Javer Khosla, a resident of Lahori Gate, Amritsar, who was reportedly staying in Katra.
According to police, the suspect was intercepted during patrolling on suspicion. A personal search resulted in the recovery of the narcotic substance.
A case has been registered at Police Station Katra under FIR No. 283/2026, invoking Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway to trace the drug supply network and identify other individuals allegedly involved in the case.
Reasi Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking, stating that efforts to make Katra and the entire Reasi district drug-free will continue with full force.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and support efforts to curb the growing menace of drug abuse and trafficking.
