Jammu, September 5: The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several areas of the Jammu region to facilitate essential maintenance, reconductoring, pole erection, charging and other power infrastructure works.

According to an official communication issued by the Office of the Chief Engineer (Distribution), JPDCL, Jammu, power supply will remain affected in different areas on September 5, 6 and 8, 2026, for varying durations.

On September 5, power supply in Ware House and adjoining areas will remain affected from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM due to 33KV XLPE charging at the Ware House Receiving Station.

The Roop Nagar Receiving Station will undergo preventive maintenance and rectification of hotspots from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The affected areas include Upper Roop Nagar, Durga Nagar, Padha Lane, Lower Roop Nagar, JDA, Buta Nagar, Uma Devi Temple, Muthi, Chinore, Shiva Colony and adjoining areas.

Power supply will also be affected in areas fed by the 11KV Arnas, Thuroo, Back Arnas and Dharmari feeders on September 5 and 6 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 noon due to pole erection and DTR augmentation. The affected areas include Arnas, Ponda Mohalla, Salal, Salal Market, Rumbal Thala, Kanthan, Dharote, Surindi, Lower Judda, Chirral, Garh Shajroo, Chundhar, Sukcha and Bara Shikari I & II.

On September 6, the 33KV Mahanpur-Basohli Line will remain affected from 7:00 AM to 12:00 noon for insertion of poles and replacement of conductors, affecting Basohli, Martha, Nagrota, Saman Jandrota, Bhoond, Mashka, Sanshar Bani, Bhandar, Duggan, Chalog, Dhaggar and adjoining areas.

The 33KV Ganika Line will remain affected from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM for 11KV line reconductoring, covering Bhagwah, Kastigarh, Sazan and adjoining areas.

The 66KV circuits 601, 602 and 606/607 will be shut down from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon for branch cutting and preventive maintenance. Several areas including Barwal, Palli, Sakta Chak-A, Nagri, Jakhbar, Airwan, Saidpur, Industrial Area Maroli, Kumri Katherа, Barnoti, Rajbagh, Nanan, Budhi, Marheen, Channi, Paharpur, Chandwan, Haria Chak and adjoining industrial areas will be affected.

The 66/11KV Receiving Station Changran will remain affected from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon for replacement of the 11KV CT set and shifting of load from Transformer-I to Transformer-II. The affected areas include Shaheedi Chowk, Super Bazar, Jakhbar, Changran, Kathua Jail, Upper Shiva Nagar, Lower Shiva Nagar and adjoining areas.

The 11KV Korepunnu and Industrial feeders will be affected from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM for tower erection, conductor stringing and associated power infrastructure works, affecting Korepunnu, Slapur, Dohlian Jattan, Khanwal, Industrial Area and adjoining areas.

The 33KV 308 line emanating from Grid Station Chowadhi will remain affected from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM for reconductoring of the 11KV Kanhal-2nd line, affecting Birpur Complex, Industrial Area, Kanhal, Seora and adjoining areas.

JPDCL has advised consumers to take note of the scheduled shutdowns and make necessary arrangements in advance. The shutdown schedule is subject to fair weather conditions and adherence to prescribed safety norms and Standard Operating Procedures for work on power lines and equipment.
