Anantnag, September 6, 2026:

Anantnag Police arrested an alleged drug peddler and recovered approximately 146 grams of charas during routine naka checking at Rambirpora in the Mattan area on Sunday.

According to police, a team from Police Station Mattan was conducting routine checking when they apprehended a person identified as Danish Ahmad Lone, son of Gh. Mohi-ud-Din Lone, a resident of Rambirpora, Mattan.

During his personal search, police recovered approximately 146 grams of charas from his possession.

In connection with the recovery, FIR No. 99/2026 has been registered at Police Station Mattan under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigation into the case has been initiated.

Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to combating drug abuse and trafficking in the district, stating that strict legal action will be taken against individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.
