Abhijeet Dipke (founder of the Cockroach Janta Party / CJP) has although publicly supported the Jharkhand students’ protest but his still not joining them creates ripples about his commitment for their cause.

 What Dipke and CJP have actually done

- On 2–3 August 2026 (around day 5 of the Ranchi sit-in), Dipke spoke to the protesting students via video call. He posted on X: “Spoke to the students who are protesting in Jharkhand over irregularities in JPSC and JSSC recruitment exams. The CJP stands with all the students in Jharkhand and supports their demands.” CJP accounts echoed the same message.

- On 5 August 2026 (as the protest crossed 12 days), speaking to reporters in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra) ahead of a CJP strategy meeting, Dipke said: “We will definitely go to Jharkhand, we will stand with them and support their every demand in the agitation.” He framed CJP as a youth “pressure group” that would back education-related agitations regardless of which party is in power in a state. What the question that is coming in the mind of every person is that,  the government in Jharkhand is led by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), headed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. JMM governs as part of the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), which includes the Indian National Congress (INC) and other supporting parties that' why Dipke is lingering on his tour on one pretext or other. 

The Jharkhand protest (indefinite sit-in at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi since ~29 July 2026, with hunger strikes by student leaders such as Devendra Nath Mahto) centres on alleged irregularities/paper leaks/OMR issues in the 14th JPSC and JSSC recruitment exams. Students are demanding a CBI/ED probe (rejecting the state CID probe ordered by the Hemant Soren government), cancellation of affected exams, and systemic reforms. It has drawn comparisons to the earlier CJP-led Jantar Mantar agitation over NEET and other exam issues.

 Why the perception of non-support exist??

- Dipke is allegedly currently focused on organisational meetings in Maharashtra after the high-profile Delhi protest that contributed to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. 

Soft corner for Congress or other motives?

There is no credible evidence of a “soft corner for Congress” driving any delay but something is fishy here:

- Dipke’s background includes earlier work with the Aam Aadmi Party’s social-media/communications team (around 2020–2023) and as a communications adviser linked to the Delhi education department. He has not been linked to Congress but rumours are there 

- CJP positions itself as a youth pressure group focused on exam integrity, unemployment, and institutional accountability, explicitly stating it will support such agitations “irrespective of the ruling party in states.” Jharkhand is currently governed by the JMM-led alliance (with Congress as a partner),so not coming of Dipke creates doubts in the mind of the people..  

- His recent public remarks emphasise pressure-group tactics over immediate electoral politics and stress supporting students across states are publicly good but are not satisfying the students. Speculation about Congress leanings allegedly appears to be a filling the blanks.

So is it is up to the conscience of the readers whether Dipke is good or bad in the larger interest of the student community. Samba times is presenting all this to the choice of the public what is wrong or what is right.
