Kharu, August 20: A three-day training programme for enumerators and supervisors of Kharu Tehsil commenced today at the Conference Hall of the SDM Office, Kharu, as part of preparations for the Population Enumeration phase of Census 2027. The training programme will continue from August 20 to 22, 2026.

Ms. Rigzin Yangdol, JKAS, SDM Kharu and Charge Officer, Tehsil Kharu, along with Naib Tehsildar Gya, attended the programme and interacted with the trainees. She stressed the importance of accurate, systematic and error-free data collection and urged the participants to undertake the enumeration exercise with sincerity, diligence and a strong sense of responsibility.

Field Trainer Ms. Stanzin Angmo conducted the training sessions and familiarised the participants with various practical and field-level aspects of the enumeration process. The sessions also covered digital literacy-related questions and other important components to be addressed during the field exercise.

The training programme is aimed at equipping enumerators and supervisors with the necessary knowledge, skills and practical understanding to ensure the smooth, accurate and effective conduct of the Population Enumeration exercise under Census 2027.
