Social Welfare Department Concludes Assessment Camps Across Kishtwar
268 Beneficiaries Assessed Under ADIP and RVY Schemes
Kishtwar, August 25, 2026: The Department of Social Welfare, Kishtwar, concluded a series of assessment camps for Divyangjan and senior citizens across the district, with 268 beneficiaries assessed under various welfare schemes.
The camps were organized on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS) and Director, Social Welfare, Sh. Ranjeet Singh (JKAS), in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO).
The camps aimed to identify and assess eligible beneficiaries requiring assistive and prosthetic aids under the Assistance to Disabled Persons (ADIP) and Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) schemes of the Government of India.
The concluding assessment camp was held at Nali, Bunjwah, covering beneficiaries from far-flung areas of the district. The camps were conducted under the overall supervision of District Social Welfare Officer, Kishtwar, Sh. Tariq Parveaz Qazi (JKAS).
As per the assessment figures, 230 senior citizens were assessed under the RVY scheme, while 38 Divyangjan were assessed under the ADIP scheme.
The camp-wise participation included 144 beneficiaries from Kishtwar, 22 from Dachhan, 54 from Paddar and 48 from Bunjwah.
The assessment camps were organized at different locations according to the notified schedule. The first camp was held at TRC Kishtwar on August 21, followed by Panjdhara, Dachhan, on August 22. Another camp was conducted at Panchayat Ghar, Tiyari, Paddar, on August 24, while the concluding camp took place at Nali, Bunjwah, on August 25.
The Department stated that the initiative was aimed at taking government welfare schemes closer to eligible beneficiaries living in remote and far-flung areas, enabling them to access assistive devices and other necessary aids closer to their places of residence.
Meanwhile, the assessment camps scheduled for Marwah and Warwan have been postponed. Their revised dates will be notified separately by the Department of Social Welfare, Kishtwar, in consultation with ALIMCO authorities.
