Samba, August 24, 2026: In a significant success, Samba Police has worked out two separate theft cases involving government schools within the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana by arresting three accused persons and recovering stolen property.

The cases were registered following complaints regarding thefts at Government High School Meen Sarkar and Government Higher Secondary School Samilpur.

On 21.08.2026, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Bari Brahmana by the Headmaster Government High School Meen Sarkar, stating therein that some unknown person(s) had broken into the Kindergarten Room of the school and stolen school property, including one 32-inch LCD TV and one CRT TV (frameless).

Acting over the complaint, a case FIR No. 253/2026 U/S 331(4)/305(e) BNS was registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation started.

During the course of investigation, a police team of Police Station Bari Brahmana after hectic efforts coupled with technical and human intelligence, rounded up one suspect namely Rohit Kumar S/o Bobby R/o Rajeev Colony, Tehsil Bari Brahmana, District Samba who upon sustained questioning confessed his involvement in the instant theft case. The accused was subsequently arrested and on the basis of his disclosure, the police recovered the stolen 32-inch LCD TV from his possession.

In another case, on 21.08.2026, the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Samilpur submitted a written complaint at Police Station Bari Brahmana regarding the theft of school items including one inverter, one inverter battery, one voltage stabilizer and one oxygen cylinder.

Accordingly, a case FIR No 252/2026 u/s 331(4), 305(e) BNS was registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation taken up.

During investigation, several suspects were rounded up and questioned. During sustained questioning, one suspect identified as Shiv Dayal @ Sunny S/o Rajinder Kumar R/o W.No 06 Teli Basti Bari Brahmana confessed to his involvement in the offence.

During further investigation, the accused disclosed the involvement of another person namely Jugal Kumar S/o Romesh Kumar R/o Nilli Udhampur presently residing at W.No 06 Teli Basti Bari Brahmana.  

Both accused persons were subsequently arrested, and the stolen school items were recovered.

Police also seized a Hero Honda CBZ motorcycle without registration number, which was used in the commission of the offence, under section 106 BNSS.

Further investigation in both cases is going on to ascertain any additional involvement, recover any remaining stolen property and establish all other facts connected with the offences.
