Samba Police Arrest Drug Peddler, Recover 6.08 Grams of Heroin-Like Substance
SAMBA, AUGUST 25, 2026: Continuing its intensified crackdown on drug trafficking and peddling, Samba Police has arrested a suspected drug peddler and recovered approximately 6.08 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
Acting on reliable information, a police team from Police Station Samba established a naka at NHW-44 near Chichi Mata Temple, Samba. During checking, the team intercepted a pedestrian who was travelling from the Vijaypur side towards Samba and was found moving under suspicious circumstances.
During a thorough frisking, police recovered approximately 6.08 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession. The contraband was seized and the accused was taken into custody.
The arrested accused has been identified as Sahil Choudhary, son of Yash Pal, resident of Sai Arnia, District Jammu.
In connection with the recovery, FIR No. 243/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Samba. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the forward and backward linkages of the narcotics network.
SSP Samba has appealed to the general public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by sharing information regarding drug trafficking and peddling. The police assured that the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential and that credible information would be acted upon promptly.
