Reasi, August 25, 2026: Continuing its sustained crackdown on the illegal trade and distribution of narcotic and psychotropic substances, Reasi Police has recovered 4,080 Pregabalin capsules and apprehended one person in the jurisdiction of Police Post Banganga.

A police party from Police Post Banganga apprehended a person identified as Ankush Kumar, son of Nand Lal, resident of Chak Mathyani, Tehsil Teryath, District Rajouri, who was reportedly travelling from Banganga towards PP Market.

During the search, police recovered a black-coloured polythene bag from his possession containing 4,080 Pregabalin capsules. The recovery comprised four transparent polythene packets containing 1,000 capsules each and eight strips containing 80 capsules.

In connection with the recovery, FIR No. 280/2026 under Section 223 BNS has been registered at Police Station Katra. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered capsules.

Reasi Police reiterated its commitment to curbing the illegal trade and abuse of psychotropic substances and stated that sustained action will continue against individuals involved in such activities.
