Rajnath Singh Flags Off NCC’s All-India Girls High-Altitude Trek ‘Aparajita–Parang La 2026’
New Delhi, August 18, 2026: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today flagged off the National Cadet Corps (NCC) All India Girls High Altitude Long Trek ‘Aparajita–Parang La 2026’, highlighting the courage, determination and growing capabilities of India’s women.
The expedition will see 28 girl cadets undertake a challenging 250-kilometre trek over 30 days through one of India’s most demanding high-altitude routes.
The trek is being led by women officers from the three Services, reflecting the increasing participation and leadership of women in the armed forces and youth development initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajnath Singh described the expedition as a powerful testimony to the courage, determination and growing capabilities of the nation’s Nari Shakti.
The ‘Aparajita–Parang La 2026’ expedition is expected to test the cadets’ physical endurance, mental resilience, teamwork and leadership skills while providing them with valuable experience in challenging high-altitude terrain.
The initiative also underlines the NCC’s role in empowering young women and encouraging them to take on demanding challenges with confidence and determination.
