Jammu and Kashmir, August 29: Abdul Majeed Padder, Chief Coordinator and District In-Charge, along with party workers, today staged a protest against the government over the recent hike in electricity tariffs.

The protesters raised concerns over the increase in electricity charges and accused the government of failing to fulfil key commitments made to the people during the election campaign.

During the protest, Padder and the party workers highlighted several promises mentioned in the government’s election manifesto, including 12 LPG gas cylinders, one lakh jobs, waiver of KCC loans, and 200 units of free electricity.

The protesters said that nearly two years have passed since the government assumed office, but several of these commitments are yet to be implemented. They questioned the government over the delay and demanded accountability for the promises made to voters.

“Where are the promises that were made to the people?” the protesters questioned, urging the government to explain why the commitments have not yet been fulfilled.

The protesters also demanded that the government address concerns regarding the electricity tariff hike and take immediate steps to provide relief to consumers.

The demonstration concluded with a call for the government to honour its electoral commitments and remain accountable to the people.
