PM-SETU Industry Conclave Held in Lucknow to Strengthen Industry-Linked Skill Development
Lucknow: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, organised the PM-SETU Industry Conclave in Lucknow, bringing together key stakeholders from the government and industry to strengthen the link between skill development and employment.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called upon the defence industry to partner with PM-SETU and contribute towards transforming India’s demographic dividend into a productive dividend, in line with the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
Speaking at the conclave, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Singh emphasised that industries must go beyond Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and take greater ownership of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).
He said PM-SETU has been designed to bridge the gap between skilling and employment by creating stronger industry-institution partnerships and ensuring that training is aligned with emerging workforce requirements.
The conclave highlighted the importance of industry participation in modernising ITIs, improving the quality of vocational training and creating better employment opportunities for India’s youth.
