Islamabad, August 20, 2026: Pakistan has lodged a strong protest over recent remarks by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor regarding Jammu & Kashmir.

Pakistan summoned the US Chargé d’Affaires in Islamabad and conveyed its objections to the ambassador’s description of Jammu & Kashmir as an important part of India.

The development comes after Sergio Gor’s visit to Srinagar, where he met Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and spoke about the situation in the Union Territory.

The remarks have added a new diplomatic dimension to the ongoing discussions surrounding Jammu & Kashmir.
