Lashkar Terrorist Latief Bhat Behind Twin South Kashmir Attacks: Sources
Srinagar, Aug 2: Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Latief Bhat has been identified as the perpetrator behind two separate terror attacks in South Kashmir, according to security sources. The attacks claimed the lives of a Jammu and Kashmir Police head constable and two non-local labourers within a span of nine days.
Sources said that on July 22, Latief Bhat allegedly shot dead Head Constable Ashiq Hussain in Anantnag while the policeman was deployed on Amarnath Yatra security duty. He is also accused of carrying out the July 31 terror attack in Kulgam, in which two non-local labourers lost their lives.
According to sources, Bhat carried out both attacks alone and used an AK-47 assault rifle. Security agencies are continuing investigations while intensifying operations across South Kashmir to trace and neutralise the terrorist.
