Samba, August 25: Several villages, including Jeed, Janoh, Hundred, Kanair, Dabnu and Beli, continue to face a serious lack of basic road connectivity, with residents reportedly still relying on footpaths for daily travel.

Despite India completing nearly eight decades of Independence, people living in these villages say they are still deprived of proper roads and reliable access routes. The lack of connectivity has made everyday life difficult, particularly for school-going children who have to walk long distances to reach their schools.

Residents said the absence of proper roads affects students, elderly people and other villagers who need to travel for education, healthcare, employment and other essential services.

The situation has raised questions over the pace of rural infrastructure development and the accessibility of government schemes in remote areas.

Villagers have urged the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to construct proper roads and improve connectivity to their villages. They said better road infrastructure would not only ease daily commuting but also provide children with safer and easier access to education.

Residents hope that their long-pending demand for road connectivity will receive the attention of the administration and that concrete action will be taken at the earliest.
