Jammu,9-08-2026: During routine naka checking at Ban Toll Plaza, Nagrota, a police team of Police Station Nagrota intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. JK02AJ-4071, coming from Reasi towards Jammu.

On checking, the vehicle was found loaded with approximately 11 tons of Khair wood, which was being transported without valid documents. The seized Khair wood is estimated to be worth approximately ₹10 lakh.

The vehicle along with the seized Khair wood has been taken into custody and the matter has been handed over to the Forest Department for further action under relevant provisions of the Forest Act.

Jammu Police remains committed to curbing illegal timber smuggling and protecting forest resources in the region.
