J&K Government Notifies New Transfer Policy for School Education Employees




Srinagar, August 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has notified a new Transfer Policy for employees of the School Education Department, superseding all previous orders on the subject.

The policy has been issued under Government Order No. 335-JK(Edu) of 2026, dated August 20, 2026, by the School Education Department, Civil Secretariat, Jammu & Kashmir.

According to the order, the new transfer policy has been formally notified along with Annexures “A” and “B”, which contain the provisions and guidelines governing transfers of employees of the School Education Department.

The order has been issued by Ram Niwas Sharma, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, School Education Department.

Copies of the Government Order have been circulated to senior government authorities, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Project Director Samagra Shiksha, J&K SCERT, Directors of School Education, JKBOSE and all Chief Education Officers/Principal DIETs, among others.

The notification marks a significant development for employees of the School Education Department, as the new policy will replace the earlier transfer-policy orders and provide the framework for transfers in the department.
