Anantnag, August 29, 2026: Anantnag Police, in coordination with officials of the Drug Control Department, conducted a joint inspection of medical retail outlets in the Achabal area to check compliance with prescribed regulations.

During the inspection, Amreen Medical Store, owned by Shafeeq Ahmad Itoo of Trahpoo, Achabal, was found violating several regulatory requirements. Officials found that the premises had an expired licence, lacked required electronic records, and had cache covers of certain scheduled drugs. The inspection team also observed unhygienic conditions and other discrepancies at the premises.

Taking serious note of the violations, the competent authorities sealed the medical store on the spot. Further legal and regulatory action will be taken in accordance with the law.

Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring strict compliance with regulations governing the sale and distribution of medicines and preventing the misuse of scheduled drugs.
