Amit Shah Inaugurates Exhibition on New Justice Codes in Siliguri

Siliguri, West Bengal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today inaugurated an exhibition in Siliguri based on India’s new criminal justice codes, highlighting the reforms aimed at ensuring faster, time-bound and victim-centric justice.

Addressing the gathering, Shah said the new justice codes make extensive use of technology and forensic science to strengthen investigations and improve the delivery of justice.

Taking a political swipe at the West Bengal government, Shah alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had not notified the new justice codes in the state to protect her alleged “syndicate and goondaraj.” He said the BJP government had implemented the new laws with the commitment of “fear-free governance and trust.”

Shah appealed to people associated with justice, law enforcement and policing across West Bengal to visit the exhibition and understand the key features of the new criminal justice framework.

On the occasion, the newly constructed Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate office building was also e-inaugurated by the Union Home Minister.

The event underlined the government’s focus on modernising policing and strengthening the criminal justice system through technology, forensic capabilities and improved infrastructure.
