New Delhi: A high-level African delegation, along with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), engaged with the Department of Land Resources (DoLR) to understand India’s digital public infrastructure (DPI) initiatives in land governance.

During the interaction, Secretary, DoLR highlighted the vision of ‘Bharat Land Stack’ and ‘Bhu-Aadhaar’ (ULPIN) as transformative digital public infrastructure tools aimed at unlocking the economic potential of land and empowering citizens.

A technical deep dive into the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) showcased the country’s progress in digitising land governance. It was highlighted that over 40.58 crore land parcels have been assigned Bhu-Aadhaar (ULPIN), while computerisation of land records has reached near-universal coverage.

The engagement provided the visiting delegation an opportunity to gain insights into India’s experience in leveraging digital technologies to modernise land records, improve transparency and strengthen citizen-centric land governance.
