Doda, August 19, 2026: The Public Works (R&B) Department, Chenab Zone, has accorded Administrative Approval for the construction of a 2.50-kilometre link road from Donli to Malwana Jagir via Phunsore in District Doda, including a 30-metre span single-lane motorable bridge.

According to an official order issued by the Chief Engineer, PW(R&B) Department, Chenab Zone, the project has been sanctioned under NABARD-RIDF-XXXII at an estimated cost of ₹500 lakh (₹5 crore).

The approval order, dated August 18, 2026, states that the project will be executed in accordance with all prescribed codal formalities, technical specifications and applicable standards.

The department has directed that the work be taken up only after ensuring the availability of encumbrance-free land and completion of all required procedures. It has also emphasized that there should be no duplication or overlapping of funding under different schemes.

The sanctioned work is required to be completed within the stipulated time without any cost or time overrun. The department has further stressed strict adherence to relevant MoRTH/IRC standards, quality-control procedures and approved engineering specifications.

The detailed estimate will be technically sanctioned by the competent authority, while the design and drawings are required to be vetted by an authorized source before commencement of the work.

The Administrative Approval has been described as provisional/temporary in nature, subject to final authorization and sanction by the competent authority or NABARD.
