Swift rescue operation by Police, ITBP, CRPF, Army and locals evacuates all injured to hospital

Ganderbal, July 28: A bus carrying Amarnath Yatra pilgrims overturned and plunged into a gorge at the S-Mode stretch in Hariganiwan area of Gund of Ganderbal district on Tuesday, leaving dozens of pilgrims injured.

Officials told GNS that the accident took place when the vehicle lost control on the treacherous stretch.

Immediately after the incident, a massive rescue operation was launched by Gund Police led by the SHO, along with personnel from ITBP, CRPF 118 Battalion, 2 Assam Rifles, 21 RR, Yatra Police and local residents.

All the injured pilgrims were safely evacuated from the accident site and shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
