Heavy to Very Heavy Rain Alert Issued for Several Districts of Jammu & Kashmir




Srinagar/Jammu, July 21: The Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory Disaster Management Authority (JKUTDMA) has issued a weather advisory warning of intermittent spells of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over the next 72 hours.


According to the advisory, the districts likely to be affected include Doda, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, and Udhampur. Authorities have cautioned that a few vulnerable locations may experience intense showers, which could trigger flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and localized flooding.

●21-23 July:Few spells of Rain/thundershower at most places with heavy/Intense heavy showers at few Distts with very heavy at few Distts.

●24-27 July:A spell of rain/thundershower at many places with brief intense showers at few places.


Residents living in hilly and low-lying areas have been advised to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall, and follow all advisories issued by the local administration.


In case of any emergency, the public has been urged to dial 112 for immediate assistance. The administration is closely monitoring the weather situation and has appealed to citizens to stay updated through official weather and disaster management advisories.
