Heavy Rain Lashes Jammu Region; Kathua Records Highest Rainfall Since Morning
Jammu, July 21: Widespread monsoon showers continued across the Jammu region on Monday, with several districts receiving significant rainfall between 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM (IST).
According to the latest rainfall data, Kathua KVK recorded the highest rainfall at 107 mm, followed by Kathua Burmal (100 mm) and Samba (71 mm). Jammu received 33 mm, while Katra recorded 28 mm, Poonch 24 mm, and Rajouri 16 mm during the same period.
Several other weather stations across the region also reported 10–15 mm of rainfall since morning, indicating widespread monsoon activity.
The heavy rainfall comes amid an active monsoon spell over Jammu and Kashmir, with authorities advising people in vulnerable areas to remain alert due to the possibility of flash floods, waterlogging, landslides, and mudslides in hilly districts.
