Flash Flood After Cloudburst Leaves Trail of Destruction in Pahalgam's Nalla Awoora




Srinagar, July 12: A powerful flash flood triggered by a cloudburst in the Nalla Awoora area of Pahalgam, South Kashmir, has caused widespread devastation, leaving behind massive wreckage, heaps of debris, and large pools of stagnant water across the affected region. Video of a Fortuner washed away in floods water is viral on social media 




The sudden surge of water swept through the area with tremendous force, damaging infrastructure, inundating hotels and residential properties, and covering roads with mud, rocks, and uprooted trees. The aftermath has severely disrupted normal life, while stagnant water and debris continue to hamper movement and cleanup operations.




District authorities, along with emergency response teams, rushed to the spot to assess the situation and initiate restoration work. Officials have urged residents and visitors to remain vigilant, avoid flood-prone areas, and strictly follow safety advisories as the damage assessment continues. 




As of now, no major casualties have been officially reported, though authorities remain on high alert. The incident once again highlights the vulnerability of the Himalayan region to extreme weather events and highlights the urgent need for improved disaster preparedness and mitigation measures in ecologically sensitive areas.
