SAMBA POLICE INTENSIFY CRACKDOWN ON NARCOTICS SMUGGLING UNDER ONGOING NASHA MUKT ABHIYAN; ARRESTS ONE MORE DRUG PEDDLER WITH 17.79 GRAMS HEROIN LIKE SUBSTANCE

Samba: June 11, 2026: Continuing its relentless campaign against narcotics smuggling and drug abuse under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Samba Police has arrested one more drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and recovered approximately 17.79 grams heroin-like substance (Chitta) from his possession.
As part of the intensified anti-drug operations being carried out across the district, a Police team of Police Station Ghagwal during patrolling in the Harsath area, intercepted a pedestrian who was coming from Ghagwal and moving towards Harsath under suspicious circumstances. During frisking, approximately 17.79 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) was recovered from his possession.
The drug peddler identified as Omkar Bhagat @Gusha S/o Raj Kumar R/o Hamirpur tehsil Marheen district Kathua has been arrested and the contraband item has also been seized.
A case FIR No.60/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
