SAMBA POLICE FOILS 02 BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPTS; ARRESTS BOVINE SMUGGLER, RESCUES 13 BOVINES

 



Samba: June 24, 2026: Continuing its sustained drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has achieved another significant success by foiling two separate bovine smuggling attempts within the jurisdictions of Police Stations Samba and Ghagwal. During these operations, police arrested one bovine smuggler and rescued a total of thirteen (13) bovines from the clutches of smugglers. 


Acting on information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Post Mansar of PS Samba has successfully foiled bovine smuggling attempt near Jassore Top area, arrested a bovine smuggler and rescued seven bovines which were being smuggled by foot from Mohargarh area towards district Udhampur without any valid permission.


The arrested bovine smuggler has been identified Mukhtiyar Ali S/o Saif Din R/o Patyari tehsil Dansal Jindrah district Jammu.


A case FIR No.179 /2026 u/s 223 BNS has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.


In another successful operation, acting on specific information, a team of Police Post Rajpura of PS Ghagwal has rescued 06 bovines near Babbar Nallah which were being smuggled by foot from Kathua side toward Samba side via border road in a cruel manner and without any valid permission.


A case FIR No. 64 /2026 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
