A powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck southern Philippines (Mindanao region) .

on 8 June 2026, causing widespread destruction, building collapses, landslides, and temporary tsunami warnings. The epicenter was reported offshore near Sarangani Province, south of Mindanao.
