Jammu Police Busts Major Narco-Terror Network in Punjab; AK-47, Heroin and Cash Recovered
Jammu, June 17: In a major breakthrough against narco-terrorism, Jammu Police conducted a successful operation in Amritsar, Punjab, dismantling a significant criminal network allegedly linked to notorious gangster Lau Gujjar's syndicate.
According to SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, police teams raided multiple locations in Amritsar and arrested key operatives involved in narcotics trafficking and illegal arms activities. During the operation, police recovered an AK-47 rifle, pistols, ammunition, approximately 1.5 kilograms of heroin, three mobile phones, and cash amounting to ₹11 lakh.
Police also seized vehicles allegedly used by the accused for transporting drugs, weapons, and other illegal consignments. The arrested individuals are believed to be part of a well-organized narco-terror network operating across state borders.
SSP Joginder Singh described the operation as a significant achievement in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking and terrorism. He stated that the recovery of sophisticated weapons and a large quantity of heroin points to the deep nexus between criminal gangs and narco-terror elements.
Investigations are underway to identify other members of the syndicate, trace the source of the contraband, and uncover the wider network involved in financing and facilitating such activities. Police officials have indicated that further arrests and recoveries are likely as the investigation progresses.
The operation reflects Jammu Police's commitment on cracking down on organized crime, drug smuggling, and activities posing a threat to national security.
