Massive Search Operation Enters 4th Day in Rajouri Forests: 1 Millitant Believed to be Injured
Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir: A massive cordon and search operation in the Dorimal–Gambhir Moghla forest belt of Rajouri entered its fourth consecutive day on Tuesday, as security forces intensified efforts to track down suspected militants believed to be hiding in the dense forest area.
The joint operation is being carried out by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the region.
According to reports, one suspected militant is believed to have been injured during the ongoing operation. Security personnel reportedly discovered traces of blood at multiple locations in the forest belt, indicating possible movement of injured militants through the rugged terrain.
Officials said extensive searches are underway in the densely forested and mountainous area, with additional reinforcements deployed to prevent any escape routes. Drone surveillance, sniffer dogs and advanced tracking equipment are also reportedly being used to assist the operation.
The entire area remains under tight security as forces continue combing operations amid heightened vigilance. However, no official confirmation regarding any casualty or arrest has been issued so far.
The Rajouri-Poonch region has witnessed several anti-militancy operations in recent months due to increased attempts by militants to infiltrate and establish hideouts in remote forest areas.
