Heavy Rains, Hailstorm Trigger Traffic Chaos in Khara Madana; Devika Floodwaters Disrupt Normal Life

Purmandal, May 30: Heavy rainfall accompanied by a hailstorm lashed parts of Purmandal Block on Saturday morning, bringing pleasant weather but also causing disruptions to normal life in several areas.

In the Khara Madana area, rising floodwaters in the Devika River led to severe traffic congestion, leaving commuters stranded for hours on bothvsides of Devika. Water overflowed onto roads, hampering the movement of motorcycles, cars, and jeeps and creating difficulties for people travelling through the area.

Several vehicles were seen moving cautiously through waterlogged stretches as traffic slowed considerably. Local residents expressed concern over recurring flooding during heavy rains and urged authorities to take preventive measures to avoid such situations in the future.

It is pertinent to mention that while the heavy rains and hailstorm provided relief from the heat and made the weather pleasant, they also caused inconvenience in many areas due to waterlogging, overflowing streams, and disruption of road connectivity.

The administration is closely monitoring the situation, and residents have been advised to remain cautious in flood-prone areas.
